Not Knowing is Bliss...Sometimes

“I don’t want to nor do I need to know - Rodney Williams.”  One of the more freeing experiences was learning the first sentence. I’m a fixer by nature, and for a big part of my life, I felt I had to have the answers to most everything. I typically would get out my emotional shovel and insecure jack hammer and spend countless hours of energy digging to find the answers only to find they sucked, when I found them. I’m proud to say I’ve learned there are just times the answers are not needed, as they add no value, would suck me into a stinko situation, or would have a less than positive impact on my life. I submit everyone can think of times they dug for answers only to wish they never had, after finding said answer.

According to the Oxford Dictionary, the definition of bliss is, perfect happiness; great joy. Now that I think about it, maybe there is a lot of truth in the saying, “ignorance is bliss.”
