I am a big believer of taking photos. Pictures capture a unique moment in time that will never happen again. Even if you retake the photo, it will be a little different. Yes, selfies & ussies are actual terms. A selfie is a self-portrait, and an ussie is a group self-portrait. By looking at social media these days, they are the most popular types of photos.
Over the last few years, I have taken more photos than any other time in my life, and most of my photos are ussies. I know why I take so many now. I want to ensure I capture the moment and the memory of the people and events I experience. It gets back to the most precious thing in the universe, time. We all have a finite amount of time, 86,400 seconds a day to be exact, and once it is gone, it is gone.
Take that selfie. Take that ussie. Don’t worry about your hair, the lighting, or looking silly. Just capture the moment. You’ll be glad you did.
