The Volume
“When your mind is at ease, you will never be tired.” – Nora’s Convenience Store Clerk
Nora sent me today’s quote on Sunday. She had walked in the local store and the clerk asked her how she was doing. She said great but a little tired. He said “your mind is not at ease” then said today’s quote: when your mind is at ease, you will never be tired.
We all have an amount of chatter (I call mine clouds) and noise racing through our heads. It can sometimes be stressful and overwhelming. You have so much going on and are trying to handle them all at once. It’s the old analogy of trying to juggle chainsaws. Being mentally tired affects all parts your life. The volume of the chatter in your head impacts your physical health, mental health, relationships with your spouse/girlfriend/boyfriend, the job, etc. Fixating on the issues only heighten the sensation thus increasing the level of stress.
Remember, a volume control is nothing more than a switch that we operate. It’s not so much the traditional on/off switch but is a potentiometer or switch that provides variable resistance. The higher you turn the switch, the more volume you get and vice versa. Learn to adjust the volume to a comfortable level so you don’t blow your ears out and end up with a massive temple pounding headache.
Action Item - There are many tools available for adjusting the volume of the chatter or clearing the clouds. If you need some help, shoot me a note and I can give you some ideas on how to turn down the volume.

The following feedback to the 8/8 TOD, – Such a Powerful Thing, comes to us compliments of John M. He is Sherry’s son-in-law. It’s his analogy on compliments.
I was just talking with a friend of mine yesterday. We were discussing the interpretations of one's actions and the words that people use and how they are perceived.
I came to the conclusion that compliments are like water. Water is what we are born into from the Mother's womb.
Water is peace. A beginning. A sense of comfort. However, water is also dangerous. It can be rushing, overwhelming, swift, and extremely hurtful.
Water over time can create new avenues as it chips away at the core of something. Water can be deadly as people succumb to its undercurrents.
Water is a blessing in a lot of cases as well. Quenches one's thirst whether it be literally or the whetting of one's appetite for acknowledgment. Be water my friend. Be gentle. It takes true strength and guts to give a kind, gentle word or action rather than spout venom.
Let the water take you on a nice relaxing ride. Your compliments will be your vessel.
