Right Where I Need To Be
“Each day when I awake I know I have one more day to make a difference in someone's life.” - James Mann
Today’s quote pretty much defines how I strive to live my life these days. I know I do not have the ability to change people or their path, but I do know I can make a difference by giving people a smile or maybe giving them something to think about that may inspire them to change their lives. If I make one difference in one life a day, then my day is complete.
It’s never easy to see someone else in despair, but trying to help them when they are not ready to receive help or attempting to force them in a direction they are not ready to go in will only cause both of you strife. Instead, give them the room and gentle support they need to find their own way. They will come to you when they’re ready, and you’ll have more energy to help them.
The more you try to attach yourself to something, the more it will want to leave – doing this is just another matter of trying to exhibit control over something you feel you have no control over. When you feel the urge to cling, turn within and determine what’s going on in your mind instead. Letting go and letting things flow the way they need and want to will bring you much great rewards in the end.
When I read the two paragraphs above, I knew the words were meant for me. They are out of my Gratitude Journal. Each page has a small message of some sort. They are there to get you to think a little much like my reasoning for writing the TODs.
There are times in all of our lives when we project our feelings toward and on others rather than look inside to see what’s really going on inside us. I know when I’ve done it, my ego was/is in play. I just try so hard, sometimes to a fault, to help, be involved, and make a difference that I sometimes may try too hard. I end up trying to inject myself further than the situation or relationship will allow, and the response is a pushback and that’s where Mr. Ego rears his head. I’ve done it in personal and professional settings.
What I sometimes believe to be my role in the lives of others may not be the case, and then there are times I’m exactly where I’m supposed to be. I see “knowing and acknowledging my role in people’s lives and learning when to step in or step out” as a learning opportunity, hence the title of the TOD. There is a reason and purpose for my place in the lives of those around me. The “place” may not always be where I feel “I” should be, but it’s Right Where I Need To Be. And yes that too is a song title from Gary Allan.
In one of the books I’m reading, they use the term emotional toxins when referring to ego related issues. The toxins are those thoughts/feelings we have that serve no useful or positive purpose. They are nothing more than mental phantoms (what if’ing for the new people to the group) that just nibble away at our daily allotment of energy. The toxins give nothing and take everything. If you feel conflicted or emotionally tired, that is typically your ego at work building up emotional toxins.
When I get the anxious and stressed and feel the emotional toxins building (and yes you can feel it), I know it’s time to talk to the good Lord and my Angels (Archangels Michael and Jeremiel are a great help in this area) to ask for clarity. I just say a prayer before I go to sleep asking for help to clear my mind of the emotional toxins and bring clarity during the night for the next step of my journey in life and determining right where I need to be.

The series of TODs over the last week have generated a lot of positive feedback and people thanking me for writing them. I’m glad my words are speaking to and helping people. Thank you all for the feedback. It really means a lot to me to know the inspiration I get is meant to help people.
Positive Thought
This one came in from Katherine yesterday: "...I can choose to manifest happiness on my own. So whether I'm at dinner with friends or stuck in traffic, I remember happiness is an inside job."

I mailed out six of the A Complaint Free World bracelets this morning. They are going fast, and that is a good thing.
